With the 2013 NFL season upon us, The Relationship Shaman thought it would be appropriate to congratulate Ray Lewis, former inside linebacker of the Baltimore Ravens. Not because he helped to inspire the Ravens to victory in Super Bowl XLVII, but rather, because of his evolution as a man.
The reason why the NFL (and other sports leagues) is so intoxicatingly violent is because it is dominated by very powerful Level 3 and Level 4 mindsets. These mindsets thrive in professional sports because they receive their energy from the powerful and merciless realm of Montu, which is the heart of the male mind and all about conquest. Men governed by this primal psychological realm are genetically predisposed to convert its energy into heart, bravery, aggression and intensity.
Playing sports can appease these attributes to an extent because certain dynamics in sports naturally do so, such as competing against other men in a physical environment where some win or advance and others do not. But in order for a battle to count in the universe these men must first connect to their environment, which, in this day and age, are the streets. They must also send energy back to the universe to appease it and keep them charged.
There are several sources of energy that can be taken from a rival and sent to the universe on the taker’s behalf, such as fear, pain, humiliation or his soul. So in the primal world, where there are no refs, penalties or whistles to blow, the Game does not stop until a rival has lost his will, dignity, some blood or his life. The vast majority of pro athletes have too much wealth, women or discipline to care about playing the Game in its purist form out in the streets. But Level 3s and 4s are genetically predisposed to crave the real thing, and often find themselves in situations where conflict cannot be avoided and energy must be sent. And it is for these reasons that Level 3s and 4s can be so problematic to the NFL.
Ray Lewis appeared to be going down that path early in his career. But since getting caught up back in 2000, he has been very involved in charitable activities, such as the Ray Lewis 52 foundation, a nonprofit foundation whose mission is to provide personal and economic assistance to disadvantaged youth. He has also been very instrumental in pressuring business and political leaders for a stronger commitment to disability sports both in the U.S. and in developing countries.
And that, in my opinion, is what makes Ray Lewis a bona fide Level 4 mindset, which is the second most powerful mindset there is. But initially I wasn’t sure. That’s because when Level 3s and 4s are young, they are more alike than they are different because they both receive their primary set of instructions from the merciless realm of Montu. But as they get older their differences become more distinct as Level 3s remain bound to Montu’s ruthless realm, only relenting to the extent that age, weight gain or hair loss may deplete some of their confidence or mobility. But as a Level 4 gets older they become more spiritual and or philosophical in nature as the door to the realm of Hydra (the realm of higher consciousness) opens up and takes them in. It is at this point in their lives that they begin seeing life from a larger perspective and start channeling their chaotic energy more towards a master plan and or issues that they are passionate about and less so on street principles and gaining respect.
For the NFL, this means little. By the time these two powerful mindsets become distinguishable to the NFL’s acute eye the damage has likely already occurred as the players, if they haven’t been banned from league or incarcerated, are near or at retirement. But if you’re in a relationship with one of these mindsets and don’t know which one they are then the damage to your mind, body and soul can continue indefinitely.
That’s why ladies it is very important to take a free mindset reading and learn what mindset your man is! Not only will doing so greatly improve your understanding of him as a man, but it will also provide you with valuable insight into his chances of evolving from the streets, as is the case with Ray Lewis.
